Welcome to Exploring Theology! My name is Jacob Owen and I’m an A-Level Religious Studies student (and soon to be Theology undergraduate). I set up this site to discuss my interests and communicate with others, and it will consist of two main parts: short-form news and updates on religion in the world, and insightful essays/opinion pieces.

My main interests are Biblical Criticism, Christian Liberation Theology, the Protestant Reformation, New Atheism, and the role of the Papacy, amongst many other things, and I hope to share this with a growing community.

As an agnostic/atheist, I feel it important to engage respectfully and sincerely with all aspects of religious belief, as religion is a significant part of individual and public life for billions around the world. What makes Theology such a unique discipline is its ability to accommodate other subjects and approaches, including but not limited to, politics, history, English literature, philosophy, science and psychology, and I hope to inspire others to explore theology in their own way.

Hope you enjoy!

Jacob.
